Buffleheads by S. Russell-Meline
Fred's Anecdotal Note
1992 ARIZONA
The bufflehead is North America's smallest duck. It is a diving bird that takes small marine creatures for its diet in the winter and insects during the sunrmer. In this hand-painted cachet, the male searches under water for food while the female, with distinctive white cheek, treads water nearby. Note the bass swimming away as the bufflehead invades its territory.
Serial numbers used were 332 to 540.
