Wood Ducks by Jeffrey Klinefelter

Fred's Anecdotal Note

1992 INDIANA

A female pokes her head out of a nesting box placed

adjacent to a woodlands marsh. These boxes are used by

many state agencies and conservation groups to ensure

that woodduck populations are maintained by having

adequate breeding and nesting habitats. A male glides in

as a golden sky provides a warm backdrop to this tranquil

setting. A third "woodie" swims nearby on the placid water.
