Ronald Reagan

Ronald & Nancy Reagan Cachet

Cover Announcement

For the First Day of Issue cancellation on this cover, the Postal Service provided a replica of Reagan's signature. It provides a different look, and I think it adds to the appeal of this cover.

Ronaid Wiison Reagan served as President from 1981 to 1989 with his devoterd First Lady Nancy. My hand painted cachet shows Ron and Nancy on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. A red, white, and blue ribbon is a simple but effective way of expressing the deep personal patriotism of the President.

Reagan, of course, began his career in motion pictures and later as host of television's long-running "GE Theatre." He was eventually elected to the White House. He was instrumental in helping to win the Cold War against the Soviet Union and is remembered for admonishing, "Mr. Gorbachev, bring down this wall. " A short time later, the Berlin Wall was no more. On a personal note, he is remembered as a rugged individualist who loved horseback riding and as a friendly host who offered guests Presidential jelly beans. I'm pleased to offer this hand painted First Day Cover in honor of a very popular President - Ronald Reagan. Collins #M3901 - $13.25.
