Moon Landing
25th Anniversary
Collins Cover Announcement
$9.95 MOON LANDING STAMP
EXPRESS MAIL
There are several important reasons why the new stamp will be a "hot" COLLINS collectible.
1. The $9.95 face amount of the stamp makes it a super
"high value" item and the history of such items is crystal clear. It will zoom in value.
2. "Space" is a very popular collecting topic as are
"Express M il" stamps. When you put them both together in one stamp and then add a "high value" denomination, the result is an outstanding stamp.
3. This COLLINS Cover is going to be a "sold out" almost
immediately. Right now will be your only chance to obtain it at issue price. If ever there was a "sure thing" cover to obtain an extra of for future trade or sale, this is the one you should consider.
The stamp itself for this issue is a beauty. It shows Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in their space suits as they plant our flag on the surface of the moon. The lunar lander is prominently visible behind them and in the distance a beautiful mother earth stands out marvelously against the blackness of space. While this was going on, the third astronaut Mike Collins (no relation) orbited the moon in the command ship. The text is just right documenting the "25th Anniversary First Moon Landing - 1969" and displaying the $9.95 face in bold type. All of this on the large size express mail stamp. The Day of Issue postmark for this new stamp is a superb pictorial cancellation from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. A philatelic prize.
To be perfectly honest, I was caught up in the subject matter of this stamp and the national and personal pride that I vividly recall from the time of the Apollo Missions. I can say that this is absolutely the finest space and express mail cachet that I've ever produced. And, I'll go further and predict that this cachet will be the finest one done for this issue. The design and hand painting really make it a spectacular First Day Cover.
As Neil Armstrong emerged from the lander and stood at the top of the ladder he said, "O.K. Houston. I'm on the porch." Astronaut Armstrong then descended the steps and, representing the United States of America, he stepped on the moon and said, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." In that instant the human species expanded their realm beyond the home planet.
This cover will always be a key piece in any COLLINS collection. It has it all. A high value ($9.95) express mail stamp. Not only a space topical but a commemoration of the most dramatic event to date as our astronauts made their moon landing. A beautiful pictorial First Day postmark. My personal guarantee that the hand-painted COLLINS cachet is the finest I've ever done for an express mail stamp. And, within a week or so after this announcement this cover will be "sold out" from my stock and they will rest in individual collections. Make sure you don't miss it. One of the very best I'll ever do. $32.00.
Note:
Dear Collector,
There is no doubt in my mind that these $9.95 Express Mail moon landing covers will sell out very quickly, so please don't delay. You should have a minimum of one of these FDCs as they will be a real gem that future collectors will have to hunt down and acquire on the open market. Do consider an extra or two as they will be excellent investments to put away for sale or trade. But even if you pass on an extra, be sure to obtain one. You'll be glad you did!
This will be the only offering you receive for this superb cover, so please send in the order form right away before it slips your mind.
Thanks.
