This beautiful star of early films arrived in Hollywood as the result of a high school beauty contest. She appeared in many movies and quickly became a star. Included in her most acclaimed roles were the films "It"; "Wings"; and "Mantrap".

My hand-painted cachet really turned out well for this issue.

Clara is reclining on a sofa and is dressed in a light and alluring dress. Her hair is down and she, indeed, strikes a pose that could be considered most appropriate for the leading lady of "Mantrap".

As with my previously offered Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton covers in this set (both still available at $10.75 each), this Clara Bow FDC has the distinctive border which ties the whole set together. Often I like to include a "visual impact" component to my cachets and in this case the border of filmstrip, piano and musical notes, director's megaphone, and early movie camera will give this Silent Screen COLLINS set a true identity of its own and ensure that it will always be a well-known and sought-after group within thc hobby.
