Collins Cover Announcement 

LOVE

The stamps for this issue had one thing going for them -- they were colorful. Purple, blue, green, red, orange and yellow -- all bright, bright, bright!!! I decided to design the cachet so that I could bring these colors into it...and I think the end result is one that you will appreciate. In a surreal rendition, a lovestruck couple stroll down a grassy green country path. Surrounding them is a meadow of colorful blooming wildflowers. A pair of bluebirds flies overhead and two deer -- buck and doe -- stand at the meadow's edge. Majestic mountain peaks and a golden sky form a panoramic background. This hand-painted cachet blankets the entire cover and it very nicely brings in all of the colors in the stamps.

Purchasing the stamps in Hollywood, a single has the official cancel from that city. Then, a flight to Rocky Mountain country and a drive north ended successfully with an excellent unofficial cancel on another single from Loveland, Colorado.

This is a very colorful COLLINS cover and I think the cachet is adapted very well to the multi-colored stamps. With each FDC having both Hollywood and Loveland First Day cancels, I hope you'll add this "attention-getter" to your collection. Item #T901 - $8.00
