The Century Comes to an End

The Twentieth Century certainly saw 100 years of dramatic change in America, from the Model-T automobile and the Wright Brothers flight to the worldwide web and flights into space. As I send this final Celebrate the Century cover featuring John Glenn, I would like to thank you for acquiring this major Collins set. When the first stamps were issued in early 1998, I knew we were facing a seven-year project that would ultimately produce 150 hand painted cachets. You had faith in me for the long haul, and I appreciate it very much. Now that the full series is an accomplished fact, I believe that the covers constitute the finest set of hand painted cachets ever created for a single project of this scope and size. It's a feat that most likely will never be exceeded by any cachetmaker, including myself. Again, thanks for your patience and commitment, and I hope you'll agree that this set will always be one of the true treasures of our hobby.
