Romantic Couples of History and the Wolrld

37¢  Garden Blossoms

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans

Movie and television cowboys were very popular when I was a youngster growing up. Stars such as Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy, and the Lone Ranger rode into exciting adventures week after week. But, perhaps, the most famous was Roy Rogers — "King of the Cowboys" — and his constant cornpanion and wife Dale Evans. With their horses Trigger and Buttermilk, dog Bullet, and sidekick Pat (who drove a jeep called Nellie-Belle), they provided entertainment to several generations. With fond memories and wishing "Happy Trails to You," I'm pleased to honor Roy and Dale as a Romantic Couple of the Golden West. Collins #F3801 — $12.25.

60¢ Garden Blossoms

John and Jacqueline Kennedy

In the early 1960s, Camelot came to Washington, DC as the young and charismatic Jack Kennedy was elected President of the United States. By his side was the vivacious and gracious Jackie Kennedy who seemed to fit the dual roles of First Lady and young mother perfectly. With his presidency and life cut short by an assassin's bullet, Jack Kennedy's term in office was brief. But that historic snapshot in time, when John F. and Jacqueline Kennedy occupied the White House, made them my next Romantic Couple of the World. Collins #G3801 —$12.50.
