Cover Announcement 

The first thing that will make this First Day Cover stand out in your collection is that it has a bold arrangement of ten of the new four-cent stamps. Eight of them are tied to the envelope with a First Day of Issue slogan cancellation, while the bottom two are postmarked with a First Day of Issue bullseye cancel. This interesting configuration was used to meet the first-class postage requirement.

To add a bit of appeal to the cachet, I added a small dog, which looks to be in a dilemma. The pug knows that the nearby Chippendale is "off limits" but ponders the thought of curling up and taking a nap on the expensive carpet.

In choosing the paints to be used, I decided to coordinate with the colors on the new stamps. As a result, the whole cover has a very nice visual appeal, and I certainly think you'll enjoy having it in your collection. It turned out to be one of those distinctive covers that future Collins enthusiasts (and dog topical collectors) will be searching for a few short years down the road.
