This is a good PDC for those who enjoy combo covers. In addition to the new issue, I also used the 1959 St. Lawrence Seaway stamp (1131) and the Massena, New York "First Day of Issue" cancel ties both of them to this cover. I was to meet Ed Thompson on First Day and we were going to seek the unofficials together -- unfortunately Linda fell at a picnic the day before and injured her arm, wrist and fingers so I had to bow out of this trip.

The hand-painted cachet shows a freighter as it is passing through the Eisenhower Lock of the Seaway. For this issue, I chose more subdued coloring, and I really like the way it looks. The combo aspect adds interest. Item #T801 - $5.50
