In the past, the U.S. Postal Service issued a number of stamps featuring classic Disney characters. They proved to be very popular with my Collins collectors. Now I'm delighted to announce that the Postal Service is continuing its Disney theme stamps with the characters from a number of recent hit Disney/Pixar films. In future years, these endearing characters will achieve classic status in their own right, so I'm pleased that these First Day Covers will commemorate the continuing creative genius of the Disney/Pixar Studios.

Five of the main characters from the hit movie "Cars" are featured in this very colorful and lighthearted cachet. Front and center is Lightning McQueen with Tow Mater to his left and Sally to his right. Behind Sally is the big truck named Mack. And coming down the winding road in the background is Doc. All of these lovable automotive characters have converged on that famous and legendary American highway — Route 66.
