Joyce Chen
Joyce is credife-d -With popularizing Chinese food-in America.-She was a chef,-restaurant owner; author, and television personality. Chen called her dumpling-like potstickers "Peking ravioli" and also developed the first line of bottled Chinese stir fry sauces for the U.S. market. With innovations like these plus her introduction of the wok (stir fry pan) to American kitchens, she continued to spread the enjoyment of authentic Chinese cuisine throughout the country.
My individually hand painted cachet has a center portrait surrounded by favorite dishes. Starting counterclockwise from upper left are hot peppers and rice, broccoli chicken, shitake mushrooms with dumplings, and soy sauce, dim sum, Chinese cabbage, and Chinese tea. In the cachet, Joyce is using her self-designed flat-bottomed wok.
