Legends of Hollywood

Shirley Temple - Actress & Diplomat

“On The Good Ship Lollipop”

Cover Announcement

Shirley Temple was an actress, singer, and dancer who was Hollywood's number one box office star from 1935 to 1938. She began her movie career at age three in 1932. In 1934's "Bright Eyes," a film written specifically for Shirley's talents, she becamc an intemational star. What was to become her signature song, On the Good Ship Lollipop, was introduced in this film.

Movie hits such as Curly Top and Heidi followed in the late Thirties, and she was so popular that merchandise such as Shirley Temple dolls and clothing was the rage. As she grew older, her popularity began to lessen, and she retired flom films at age 22.

My individualll' hand painted cachet shows the young star in 1934 at the height of her popularity. Her theme song, On the Good Ship Lollipop sold 500,000 copies of the sheet music worldwide, and part of the musical score is shown behind her.

This is a feel-good Collins cachet, and I'm pleased to announce this cover for America's Sweetheart, Shirley Temple. Collins #Q5502 at $15.00.
