This is the second and final issue for the new two-stamp set. The first was for the early days of the sport, and this one is for the modern era. Today's game seeks to protect the player as much as possible, and safety equipment includes a helmet, shoulder and elbow pads, mouth guard, heavy gloves, padded under-shorts, and a reinforced athletic cup.

My individually hand painted cachet shows a modern player controlling the puck in front of specrators safely-seated behind protective transparent walls. Professional leagues are active in several areas, and in international competition the game is dominated by the ''Big Six" consisting of the United States. Canada, Russia, Sweden, Finland, and the Czech Republic.
