200th Anniversary

Cover Announcement

This individually hand painted cachet proudly proclaims "The Land of Lincoln." A portrait silhouette of the beloved president boldly appears to the lower left of the cover. Lincoln was still living in Illinois when he was elected to the presidency of the United States.

Also shown is Wrigley Field - home of the Chicago Cubs. The state has a rich heritage of professional and collegiate sports. Rising high above the other components of the cachet is the Sears Tower now known as the Willis Tower. When this 110 story skyscraper was completed in 1973. it surpassed the World Trade Center Towers in New York to become the tallest buiiding in the world. It held this distinction for almost 25 years.
