Marvin Gaye - Singer and Songwriter

Cover Announcement

Marvin was born on April 2, 1939. He was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer in the 1960s. As a solo artist, he helped to create the sound of "Motown" earning him the nicknames "Prince of Soul" and "Prince of Motown."

One of his biggest hits was I Head it Through the Grapevine, and this is what I based my individually hand painted cachet on. In 1968 it became Gaye's first song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It is an excellent rendition of Marvin performing, flanked by two grapevines. The result is an extremely fine portrait to honor this great entertainer. His other big hits included How Sweet It is, Ain't That Peculiar, What's Going On, and Let's Get In On.

Due to an early death, he had many honors bestowed posthumously including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, induction into the Rhythm and Biues Music Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I'm pleased to offer this cover for a remarkable entertainer - Marvin Gaye. Collins #N5801 at $16.50.
