Christmas Wildlife

Badger - "Bucky on Christmas Break"

Christmas Reindeer

Cover Announcement

This distinctive animal is a medium-sized member of the weasel family. Its black and white head is beautifully marked but, despite its cute appearance, it has sharp teeth and long claws making it a fierce and powerful fighter. These combined attributes were factors in the University of Wisconsin choosing it as the school mascot.

The habitat range of the badger is from the Great Lakes region south to Texas and west to the Pacific coast. The face is prominent with white and biack patches and a small white stripe going across the center of the head to the back. Fur color is gray with a light yellowish buff belly.

My individually hand painted cachet show's a badger on Christmas morning at the edge of woodland near a remote Wisconsin cabin. The envelope is flanked with the Christmas religious stamp and one of the traditional stamps. They are tied to the cover with a bullseye first day  of issue postmark. Since Wisconsin named its mascot "Bucky"' that will be the name that this Collins badger will bear. Now ready is "Bucky" on Christmas Break. Collins # C6001 at $16.50r
