1991 FEDERAL

A magnificent King Eider boasts his brilliant plumage as he swims in the deep blue water of the Bering Sea. The brief summer sun has brought a touch of green to the crest of the steep, eroding, cliff-like bank along the Alaska Peninsula.

A U.S. flag stamp is used along with the Preserving Wetlands stamp to meet the postage requirement. This keeps with the flag format of the 1991 MILFORDS. The Iarge, feather pictorial First Day cancel is, in my mind, excessive in size in relation to its artistic merit. 360 covers were produced for this $15 stamp.
