This is the first time this cancel variety has appeared in one of my mail sales. A plate number single has the small bullseye first day of issue postmark from Washington, D.C. An additional single has a beautiful large bullseye first day of issue cancel from New York City. The hand painted cachet shows a microscope and Colorful slide, and it is only the sixth Collins cachet — making it an extremely historic and desirable cover. Only 50 were produced.
