This individually hand painted Collins First Day Cover is not part of the ten-cover set that features some of Presley's hit songs and most popular movies. This FDC is my individual cachet that just captures Elvis in portrait format with his guitar.
Elvis Presley was an American musician and Actor who is considered one of the top cultural icons of the 20th Century. He is often referred to as "The King of Rock and Roll' or, simply, "The King ." At age 21 in Memphis, Tennessee, under contact to RCA Victor, he recorded his first single - Heartbreak Hotel - and it quickly became the number one hit in the United States. Elvis was soon regarded as the leading performer of Rock and Roll after network television appearances and more top-of-the-chart records.
Ibn 1956 Presley made his first move - Love Me Tender, and many more would follow. In 1958 he was drafted into the Army and served the required two years. The 1960s were devoted to Hollywood films with their popular Elvis soundtracks and adding to his ever-growing list of new record releases. In the later stages of his career he concentated on Las Vegas concerts and television specials.
