Collins Cover Announcement
SIGNING OF THE CONSTITUTION
This year's Convention of the American First Day Cover Society has as its theme "The Signing of the Constitution". I wanted to make sure that this COLLINS cover was released prior to November's Convention in Virginia Beach as I believe it will generate a lot of interest at the gathering.
This is a very rich looking effort. The hand-painted cachet is at once bold, elegant and striking. A burgundy border frames the entire work which itself is done in warm colonial wood-tones. A sturdy hand grasps a quill pen and affixes a signature to the parchment. You will have to see this one for yourself. It's unlike any other cover in your entire collection. This COLLINS speaks for itself and "says it all" for the Signing Bicentennial.
James Madison was the "Father of the Constitution", and I therefore accorded Madison, New Jersey with what I consider to be the honor of providing the First Day of Issue cancellation. The Bicentennial of our heritage comes but once. I am proud to have produced this cover in the tradition of COLLINS, and I hope you will enjoy owning and showing it. Item #X1201 - $7 50
